Wargames Factory War of Spanish Succession Infantry

Joe Dobson was kind enough to pick up a box of these from RIW Hobbies. You will find inside 36 well proportioned and detailed figures that will provide foot figures for many units during the War of Spanish Succession, with minor adjustments you could use them to build units from 1690 through 1730.


At a price of twenty bucks you can build thirty-six foot, there are parts included to make officers and pikemen as well as the normal musketeers. These are molded in a crisp, sturdy grey plastic and each sprue provides three figures, each one also come with enough parts to make officers, drummers and pikemen and all have loads of additional bits. My only complaint is the eyes seem to be molded "bugged-out" and the box-art of painted figures seems to emphasise this, my concerns were relieved when I saw the model painted by Mr. Fernandez, his work was masterful.

OK  I have another gripe; the box-art sucks. It shows a lot of so-so painted figures that are photographed in an uninspired manner. I understand that they were trying to convey the large number of possibilities presented by these moldings but with modern graphics programs and digital cameras there is no excuse for turning out a product that doesn't inspire customers to buy the miniatures.

I highly recommed this product, the possibilities are nearly endless. Mine are going to be recruited as City Guards for a "Pirates Sacking the Town" game.
